The working group meetings that Lil and Christopher go to, to represent Devonshire are public meetings. The next one will be happening in the Devonshire Library: April 15, 2013 Working Group Meeting New Monday April 15, 2013 7:00 - 9:00 pm Library Devonshire Public School 100 Breezehill Avenue www.ocdsb.ca/sch/as/Pages/NearWest.aspx

Hmmm, where exactly in the Library? Last I checked there was little room for seating in there. Perhaps they would be better off in the staff room?

We just learned this week that the Working Group meetings are open to the public. I assume they haven't seen the library, or have forgotten we lost space to a new classroom.
There are a lot of people in the working group, plus now there could be any parents from the two main schools (Elmdale and Devonshire) who might want to listen in.

Just to clarify: Near West meetings are open to the public, but the public's input is limited to a question period at the end. With staff and reps, there are about 20 people in the working group. I'll take a look this afternoon to see what kind of space there is in the library.

If the OCDSB Staff is responsible for booking the room for this meeting, I would LOVE to see the looks on their faces when they walk into the library! How can they know SO little about the school's spacing issues and limitations? Isn't that their *job*?? Thank goodness there are actual thinking and knowing people, AKA parents, involved in this process! Booking the Staff Room should not be an issue - and there is plenty of space, you may need to reconfigure the tables a bit.

Sorry, being a busybody I warned the planning staff this morning. Meeting will be in the staff room. They assumed a "standard" library size when they booked it........... It is theoretically possible that they don't know every school's layout very well.

They should know Devonshire and Elmdale at least, given the circumstances.....
