Somerset West Community Health Centre has a number of programs that could benefit families and others in the Devonshire catchment. I can come up with a list if you like. Also, there will be fundraising starting soon for the new satellite health centre at 30 Rosement (aka the Hintonburg Hub).

Thanks Vicky! If you have the links or phone #s of any of those places, good to add in as well.
I have a lot of future event ideas for Devonshire, which I will bring up in the new school year. We are a very fortunate school and I would love to see the school becoming more involved in the community and finding ways to help that way. Not everything has to be about money either, if there are neighbourhood projects that could benefit from Devonshire family involvement, it would be great to hear about them.
Kelly has already submitted the school bookings for 2013/2014 events at Devonshire. We've added a few new ideas - potluck dinners or family movie nights at the school. These would be free events for families, but could easily tie into raising money or bringing in donations for a community cause. I'm always happy to brainstorm, but volunteers are needed to help run things.

Parkdale food is looking for a group to help them distribute Christmas postcards urging people to donate this year. The boundaries are Bayswater Avenue, Carling Avenue, Island Park Drive and the Ottawa River. If anyone is able or willing to coordinate this, please let Karen know. There are people willing to walk and deliver, but someone needs to organize it.
NEEDED: Organized, energetic volunteer(maybe a grp/family)to coordinate delivery of our fundraising postcard. Call Karen 613-304-0878
